Category:Not comparable

Adjectives which are not comparable may only be used in the absolute and never in the comparative (more X or Xer) or superlative (most X or Xest). They should not be confused with nouns used attributively. For example, a house meeting is a meeting of an entire house, with house being used attributively to modify meeting, but one would not say "this meeting is house." By contrast, brick is not comparable (you wouldn't nornally say "this house is very brick"), but it functions as an adjective otherwise (you would say "this fireplace is brick").
