@ is the Unicode and ASCII character 0x0040 (64 in decimal). Its common spoken name is strudel or at.

It may refer to:

• In Computer science, username@server refers to the account username at the server server.
• In the IRC protocol, @ is the symbol for a channel operator.

The @ character is also used for typing in some Romance languages as a polite substitute for so-called sexist language. For example, the Spanish words "amigo" and "amiga" would be replaced with "amig@". The character is intended to resemble a mix of the letters "o" and "a". The usefulness of this is debated; in Spanish the masculine grammatical gender may include both males and females, while the feminine gender is exclusive to females, and there is no neuter gender. Some feel the inclusiveness of the male gender makes it not sexist, while some feel that having the division makes it sexist. This construction, however, is still used in only an informal matter.
