Édouard-Montpetit (Montreal Metro)Édouard-Montpetit is a station on the Montreal Metro Blue Line.
Origin of nameÉdouard-Montpetit metro station takes its name from the street on which it lays: boulevard Édouard-Montpetit. The boulevard, in turn, takes its name from Édouard Montpetit (1881–1954), a Quebec lawyer, economist and academic, whose history was closely linked with nearby University of Montreal. ParticularitiesÉdouard-Montpetit metro station was designed to be able to provide a connection with the Agence métropolitaine de transport's Montreal—Deux Montagnes commuter rail line. If such a connection were implemented, high-speed escalators would run from the metro station to the train station, 50 metres below.
