Airport code

An airport code is an short code used to identify a specific airport. There are two systems used:

• IATA airport code, which is more commonly known to the public
• ICAO airport code, which is more commonly used intenationally

In the U.S., FAA airport codes mesh with those from IATA, and often have numbers for small municipal or private airports.
