Alliance for the Future of Austria

The Alliance for the Future of Austria (German Bündnis Zukunft Österreich — BZÖ) is a political party founded by Jörg Haider and other leading proponents of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) on April 4, 2005. This resulted in the split of the FPÖ, the future prospects of which now seem very uncertain. Many of the current ministers from the FPÖ joined the BZÖ. The FPÖ-faction in the National Council supports the BZÖ.
