Black Elk Speaks is an autobiography of an Oglala Sioux written by John Neihardt.

Black Elk claimed he took part in the Battle of the Little Big Horn and was a medicine man for his tribe. In spite of his strong adherence to the native religion, he converted to Catholicism.
