Caleb Carr

Caleb Carr (born August 2, 1955) is an American novelist and noted military historian. He was born in New York City, achieved a degree in history, and is the author of The Devils General , The Alienist, The Angel of Darkness and Killing Time among others.

He currently resides in upstate New York and teaches military history at Bard College.

His father is Lucien Carr, a former UPI editor and early Beat generation figure.
