AcademicsUndergraduate offerings are divided among 15 departments: Business Administration, Engineering, Agriculture & Life Sciences, Law, Education, Social Sciences, Human Ecology , Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Arts, Medicine, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Dentistry, and the Division of General Studies. Of these, Engineering is by far the most popular, with more than 4,000 enrolled. Postgraduate offerings are divided between the General Graduate School and five specialized schools offering master's-level degrees. HistoryThe school opened, as a university with five colleges, in 1952. The graduate school was opened in the same year.
