Civil police

A civil police force is a police force comprised of civilians and not military personnel.

Civil police agencies may be organized and trained on military lines (often called a constabulary, although that term may also be used for non-paramilitary forces), or they may be strictly non-military type organizations, often with a paramilitary unit (SWAT or similar).
