Gaius Lutatius CatulusGaius Lutatius Catulus was a Roman leader in the First Punic War. He was elected as a consul in 241 BC, a novus homo. He led a Roman fleet into victory over Carthage in the battle of the Aegates Islands. This was the decisive battle of the conflict.
