Intamin

Intamin AG is a company based out of Wollerau (Switzerland) and is headed up by Sandor Kernacs.

Intamin is an innovator in the roller coaster industry supplying some 22 different styles of rides to a variety of parks. Their first coaster installation was the Jr. Gemini; a kids ride at Cedar Point in 1979. Since then they have installed 69 more coasters for a total of 70 coasters in several countries around the globe.

Intamin is known for being extremely innovative and creative. They were some of the first to create a propulsion system using magnets and still to this day are one of a handful of manufacturers to use such technology on roller coasters. Intamin also created the first Hydraulic Launch system which is now being used to catapult riders in a train from 0 to 128mph then climbing an amazing 456ft in the air. This newest breed of coaster has been called the “Rocket Coaster” for its extremely fast and quick launches.

However, Intamin is more widely known for their giga and mega coasters which have topped the Golden Ticket Awards ever since they were built. Currently they occupy the top 3 spots with Millennium Force, Superman: Ride of Steel and Expedition GeForce. Three distinctly different rides all giving three separate thrills but all give a world class ride.

Intamin just doesn’t design roller coasters however; they also design a large line of flat rides. They design some of the largest Ferris wheels in the world as well as some of the tallest and most thrilling drop rides we have ever seen.

Intamin is a large amusement ride developer that designs a wide variety of rides at reasonable prices. Their rides in comparison to others of the same kind are often slightly less expensive but just as safe and thrilling. They also can work or build a coaster to meet any demand or creative problem. They have built everything from the worlds tallest and faster coaster (3 times), a roller coaster on top of a mall that careens around and through a large building to a roller coaster inside a mall featuring 3 inversions and fast turns around the mall goers.

Intamin is nothing short of great when their creative efforts are combined with their ride success. Their rides are usually fast, thrilling, smooth and often times intense. They are not scared to go where no one has gone before and design prototype rides for any client willing to install one. This has helped push the roller coaster industry into the frenzy of activity it has been over the last few decades.
