Judd Hirsch

Judd Hirsch (born March 15, 1935) is an American actor best known for playing "Alex Rieger" on the television show Taxi. He played the title character on the sitcom Dear John and the father of Jeff Goldblum's character in Independence Day. Hirsch also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Ordinary People. He is currently co-starring on the CBS drama NUMB3RS.

Judd's son Alex Hirsch is a musician living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
