Ken Cooper

Ken Cooper is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. In the Canadian election of 2004, he was a candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in the Winnipeg riding of St. Boniface .

Cooper has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba, and a Master's Degree in business administration from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He has worked as a project manager for Imperial Oil and a chief executive of the Winnipeg Stock Exchange and Inland Trust in Winnipeg, among various other positions in the private financial sector. Cooper is currently a managing director of Winnipeg Angel Organization and McLeod Harvest, and a governor of the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

Cooper was a member of the PC Manitoba Fund board for a number of years, and assisted the provincial and federal Progressive Conservative parties in a variety of campaigns. The 2004 election was his first as a candidate. He received 11956 votes, or about 30% of the total cast, finishing second to Liberal Raymond Simard. This was regarded as a credible showing in an area which is historically safe for the Liberals.
