LDV

LDV is was formed in 1993 following a management buy-out of Leyland Daf's van manufacturing plant in Birmingham, England, which was in turn originally part of the British Leyland/Austin Rover empire. LDV produce a range of panel vans, pick-ups and mini buses that are available with a wide range of modifications and personal specifications. LDV's main customers are large British corporations, such as the Royal Mail, Transco and many other utilities, who are attracted by LDV's ability to adapt their product to the customer's need.

LDV currently produce a range of different models. The Convoy and Pilot were introduced in the early 90's and are a common sight in the United Kingdom; a brand new range of vans are also being produced from 2005 - the Maxus, which was jointly developed with GM-Daewoo. LDV employs around 2,000 at its Birmingham site, producing 15,000-20,000 vehicles annually.
