Märklin Digital

Märklin Digital was the first digital model railway control system. It consisted of a full system including locomotove decoders (based on a Motorola chip), central control , a computer interface, turnout decoders, digital relays and s88 feedback modules

In 2004 Märklin announced a new generation of digital components including new controllers and locomotive decoders that support bidirectional communication. That is, they can register themselves with the controller and avoid digital address conflicts. Märklin teamed up with ESU to produce the new decoders which they designate as mFx.
