Mist Walker

Mist Walker (Japanese: ミストウォーカー) is a Japanese video game development studio started by Hironobu Sakaguchi (the creator of the popular Final Fantasy series) in 2004. The logo and the name of it were trademarked in 2001.

Currently, it is not known if Mist Walker is a subsidiary of Square Enix (Sakaguchi's parent company), or a completely separate entity. Sakaguchi assumes the role of president at the new studio, and Kensuke Tanaka , the creator of the PlayOnline system, is the vice president. Also, it has been confirmed that Yoshitaka Amano, Final Fantasy's character designer, Nobuo Uematsu, Final Fantasy's composer, and Takehiko Inoue, a popular Japanese manga artist, will work in the new company.

In August 2004, it was announced that Mist Walker had begun work on three new RPG games. One of them is a strategic RPG for the Nintendo Dual Screen. The other two, as confirmed by Microsoft's representatives, are Xbox 2 games.
