News satire

Several programs, webzines and organizations regularly create fake news, solely with the purpose of entertainment and fun. These satirical news are usually clearly identified by the reader as fake news, as opposed to journalistic fake news that are not easily perceived this way. Some examples of satirical webzines that create fake news are : TheFakeNews.com, GetOdd.com and HumorFeed.com. Sometimes, Internet portals like About.com present a section on fake news (About's Satire News Room).

On April Fool's Day (April 1st), it is common to see some printed media newspapers producing fake news just for fun. Usually these news are specifically identified somewhere in the paper or in the next day as a joke.
