Rescue Me (TV show 2004)Rescue Me is an American TV drama-comedy show shown on the FX Network. The show began a UK run on Sky One on January 13 2005. Rescue Me stars Denis Leary, who was formerly seen on ABC's cancelled cop show, The Job . The show focuses on the professional and personal lives of New York City firefighters after September 11th, mainly on Tommy Gavin (Leary). Tommy has to struggle with the loss of his cousin and close friend Jimmy, who died on September 11 and frequently visits him in visions. Tommy is a divorced father whose ex-wife lives across the street from him. He is bad-tempered, hypocritical, manipulative and a relapsed alcoholic, all of which make him unusually unsympathetic for a lead character. The show has been picked up for a second season, to begin airing summer of 2005. The show also stars: Mike Lombardi - Mike Silletti James McCaffrey - Jimmy Keefe Jack McGee - Chief Jerry Reilly Steven Pasquale - Sean Garrity Andrea Roth - Janet Gavin John Scurti - Lt. Kenneth "Lou" Shea Daniel Sunjata - Franco Rivera The theme song is "C'mon, C'mon" by The Von Bondies. The series is screened in 16:9 widescreen in the UK and presumably mastered in high definition.
