Shawn Ashmore (born October 7, 1979 in Richmond, British Columbia) is a Canadian film and television actor. His twin brother, Aaron Ashmore, is also an actor. Aaron and Shawn have played twins in several movies, but have also pursued roles independently.
Shawn Ashmore's most famous role was as Bobby Drake (Iceman) in the X-Men movies X-Men and X2. While many of the minor characters such as Kitty Pride were portrayed by different actors, Ashmore was kept for the second movie. He had previously led the role in the lesser known movie Wolfgirl.
Also, he guest-starred in two episodes of Smallville and had a staring role on Animorphs
In December of 2004, Ashmore landed the lead role in the SciFi Channel mini-series Legend of Earthsea , based on the novels by Ursula K. Le Guin. He played the role of Ged, a young wizard-in-training, who takes advice from Ogion (played by Danny Glover) and falls in love with Tenar (played by Kristin Kreuk), the protege of the High Priestess of the Tombs of Atuan (played by Isabella Rossellini).
