Shivering

Shivering is a human bodily function in response to cold. When the core temperature of the body drops, the shivering reflex is triggered. Muscle groups around the vital organs begin to shake in small movements in an attempt to create warmth by expending energy.

Other responses observed in cold people (for example, swimmers emerging from a pool on a cold windy day), are dancing on the spot, hugging oneself with the arms surrounding the torso, huddling together, goose bumps on the skin, and using insulation such as towels.
