The Return of Godzilla

The Return of Godzilla (sometimes known as simply Godzilla) is a 1984 film. Part of the Toho studio's Godzilla series, it was directed by Koji Hashimoto with special effects by Teruyoshi Nakano . The score was composed by Reijiro Koroku .

The first of the "new" Heisei Godzilla films, it was the intent of the director to try to restore some of the characteristics of the early films in the series. After destroying a Russian submarine, Godzilla almost triggers World War III.

An American version featuring inserted scenes of Raymond Burr was released in 1985 in the U.S. as Godzilla 1985
