Trenchless construction or trenchless technology refers to a construction method that includes tunneling, microtunneling , horizontal directional drilling , pipe ramming , slip lining , jack and bore and other methods for installation, repair and rehabiliation of pipelines and cables below the ground. Large diameter tunnels such a those constructed by a tunnel boring machine (TBM), drill-and-blast are larger versions of trenchless construction.
