UTStarcom (NASDAQ:UTSI) is a manufacturer of telecommunications equipment based in Alameda, California. Although a United States company, UTSTarcom has a strong presence in the People's Republic of China for its product design, manufacture and sales. UTStarcom acquired the CommWorks Corporation of Rolling Meadows, Illinois from 3Com Corporation in 2003. UTStarcom also acquired Audiovox's cell phone subsidiary Audiovox Communications Corp on November 1, 2004.
