Ultraism ("El Ultraísmo" in Spanish) was a genre of Spanish poetry which came into existence after World War I. This genre followed nonconformist metrics, free verse, and evocative imagery, influenced by Symbolism and Parnassians. Notable followers include Pedro Garfias and Jorge Luis Borges.
