The United States National Arboretum is an arboretum in Washington D.C., owned by the United States Department of Agriculture. It is 178 ha (446 acres) in size, and is located 3.5 km (2.2 miles) northeast of the Capitol, with entrances on New York Avenue and R Street.
The arboretum acts as a major center of botanical research.
Attractions include the National Grove of State Trees, where specimens of most of the U.S. State trees are grown.
