University College Utrecht

University College Utrecht (UCU) is the international Honors College of Utrecht University. UCU is a selective college of 600 students within Utrecht University. Located between the two Utrecht University sites, it has its own residential campus in the city of Utrecht, the Netherlands. UCU is housed on the former Kromhout Kazerne, a turn of the century Dutch military base. Approximately 400 students are Dutch; the others cover a wide range of nationalities. The student body is organized in social and academic sub-units, the most prominent being a women's-achievement association known as LUNA. UCU, founded in 1999, was the first honors college of the Netherlands, with subsequent honors programs being founded in Maastricht and Middelburg.
