University of the South Pacific

The University of the South Pacific (USP) is the premier provider of tertiary education in the Pacific Region, and an international centre of excellence for teaching and research on all aspects of Pacific culture and environment.

Established in 1968, USP's academic programmes are recognised worldwide, attracting students and staff from throughout the Pacific Region and internationally. The University has 12 Member Countries: Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

USP offers undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes that lead to a wide variety of careers, including teaching, tourism, journalism, agriculture, science and environmental management, technology, computing and information systems, banking and finance, public administration and management, counselling and social services and others.

The main site of USP is on Laucala Campus, Suva, Fiji. in 2003, more than 11,000 students and 1 117 teachers (32 doctorates).
