Vla is a typical Dutch dairy product, made of fresh milk. It has the viscosity of yoghurt, but is much sweeter and is available in several tastes:
Traditional vla is made of cooked milk with custard, or with a combination of eggs, maizena and vanilla. And sugar, of course! Vla found in Dutch shops is usually made with other thickeners .
Plain vla also tastes good with apple sauce, or as a vlaflip: with yoghurt and some fruit syrup .
