WAD file

WAD ("Where's All Data?") is the file format used by the computer game Doom and the many other games based on the Doom engine to store data such as levels and graphics.

There are two types of WADs: PWADs and IWADs. IWADS contain the data necessary to load the game, while PWADs contain additional data such as custom levels.

For information about mods for Doom that use WAD files, see Doom WADs.
