WMHT is the call letters for a television station and radio station in Schenectady, New York owned and operated by WMHT Educational Telecommunications. It's transmitter is located in the Heldeberg Mountains in Albany County, New York.
WMHT-TV
WMHT signed on the air on March 26, 1962 on UHF channel 17 as the Capital District's first public television station and the second in the state of New York. Between 1987 and 1999, viewers could also see WMHT programming on channel 45 – first known as WMHX and later WMHQ.
WMHT-DT signed on in 2003 on channel 34.
WMHT-FM
WMHT-FM broadcasts classical music and NPR programming on 89.1 MHz and has been doing so since 1972. It has a timeshare with WRHV in Poughkeepsie, New York, which is the radio service of the State University of New York at New Paltz.
RISE
WMHT also provides an information service for those who are blind and "print-disabled" known as RISE, which has been in operation since 1978.
