Chloe: "If I told you I'd have to kill you and it looks like you've had enough trauma for one night."

Chloe: "Clark Kent is a football player and Lana Lang is a waitress."
Pete: "What's the matter with that?"
Chloe: "Nothing, I just want to click my heels and get back to reality."

Lex: "You were tied to the stake in a middle of a field. Even the Romans saved that for special occasions."

Lex: "I promise I'm not a criminal mastermind."
Clark: "I know; a criminal mastermind would have worn a mask."

Lex: "I hear you're taking a tour of my plant tomorrow."
Chloe: "It's a class field trip."
Lex: "What'd you do wrong?"
Clark: "It's that bad?"

Clark: "No, I think I'll play it by ear, you know, fly by the seat of my pants..."
Pete: "Clark, you're not the flying type".

Clark: "I, uh, I just wanted to say I'm sorry."
Chloe: "For what?"
Clark: "For letting you get hurt".
Chloe: "Well, I am perturbed with you, Clark. I'm also mad that you didn't put out the Chicago fire of 1871, or prevent the fall of the Roman Empire, making you directly responsible for the Dark Ages."

Clark: "I'll say this one more time and then I'll print up bumper stickers. This isn't a date."

Lionel: "Never underestimate the value of eccentrics and lunatics, Lex. Every Arthur needs his Merlin."

Chloe: "Clark would have to be on drugs to be on drugs."

Chloe: "I want to let you in on a secret. I'm not who you think I am. In fact, my disguise is so thin I'm surprised you haven't seen right through me. I'm the girl of your dreams masquerading as your best friend. Sometimes I want to rip off the façade like I did at the spring formal. But I can't because you'll get scared and you'll run away again. So I decided that it's better to live with the lie than expose my true feelings. My dad said there are two types of girls -- the ones you grow out of and the ones you grow into. I really hope I'm the latter. I may not be the one you love today, but I'll let you go for now, hoping one day you'll fly back to me. Because I think you're worth the wait."

Lex: "Take a look at the stars, Clark. Some of them have been extinguished for thousands of years, but their light is only reaching us now. The past is always influencing the present. I can’t change that. All I can do is try to understand it."
