- Narrator: Thomas lives in the big station of the Island of Sodor.
- Thomas: Hurry Up Gordon! Why don't you work so hard like me?
- Thomas: Do you smell a smell?
- Annie: I can't smell a smell.
- Gordon: [James is about to go on the turn table] Take care. You might stick too.
- James: No fear, I'm not as fat as you.
- Sir Topham Hatt : No passengers means no polish!
- Duncan : No polish means no passengers
- Narrator: He still has a lot to learn, dosen't he?
- Thomas: Well bust my buffers!
- Also : Bust my boiler (in Thomas and Stepney))
- Terrance: I'm Terrance, I'm ploughing.
- Thomas: I'm Thomas, I'm pulling a train. What ugly wheels you've got.
- Terrance: There's not ugly. They're caterpillars. I can go anywhere. I don't need rails.
- Thomas: I don't want to go anywhere. I like my rails, thank you.
- Sir Topham Hatt: Stepney, it appears saving you from scrap has become a habit. Please stop it.
- Gordon: Disgraceful!
- James: Disgusting!
- Henry: Despicable!
- [Duck and Percy have left Thomas at the smelters and are idling at the station before going to watch the fireworks.]
- Duck: It was wrong of Thomas to tease you, Percy.
- Percy: It's okay. He was only playing. I hope he hurries up. I wouldn't want him to be late for the fireworks.
- [Thomas, after having been spooked rockets by the two engines and out of sight.]
- Thomas: He's after meeeeee!
- Duck: [to Percy] I don't think he'll be late.
- [Thomas careens down the track with a jet engine propelling him from behind. Up ahead at the crossing gates waits Bertie.]
- Bertie: Want a race Thomas?
- [Thomas, in a flash, speeds by.]
- Bertie: Never mind.
- Narrator: But it was too late....
- Stationmaster's wife: [speaking to Thomas after he broke the station master's house] You miserable engine! Just look what you've done to our breakfast! Now I shall have to cook some more!
